VACANCY: (SOUND) TECHNICIAN

Het Markttheater (active in Amsterdam and Rotterdam) is looking for a (sound) technician for season 2024 | Vacancy for Paid position, Part-time | Closing date: none

Het Markttheater is a company breathing new life into theater in the marketplace. In the middle of the market square, we bring layered and energetic performances to diverse audiences. We play fresh material based on improvisations, emerging from journalistic preliminary research, collaborations with social partners or completely out of artistic anarchy. We play in Dutch (with or without a Flemish accent), but always look for a physical and visual quality to appeal to a wide audience in the market (from people who do not master the Dutch language well, to children). We make popular theater about small troubles and big politics, about local stories to the absurdity of existence. We organize ourselves collectively, dividing responsibilities and organizational portfolios among the various members and temporary workers. Since 2022, the Dappermarkt has been our permanent base from which we make connections with the neighborhood and plot our projects.

The core of the company is now formed by Sean Hauser and Justin van der Veen. The performances are made with our ensemble, which includes Edo Stolk, Anna Kenza Chbani, Kathlyn Wuyts, Nora Korfker, and Emma Remmelts. We are looking for a sound engineer to join our team.

As of May 2024, we are seeking a
